1. Who we are getdotnotebooks.com (the "Store") is operated by DOT Books ("DOT", "we", "us"), based at 830 Crestwood Ave, Kingston, Ontario K7P 1S6, Canada. You can reach us at trydotbooks@gmail.com or +1 613-770-8737.
By visiting the Store or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Shipping Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Store.
2. Who can buy You must be at least the age of majority where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to place an order. We currently sell and ship only to addresses in Canada and the United States.
3. Products and descriptions We do our best to show our products accurately. Each DOT folio is made from natural leather and finished by hand, so colour, grain, thickness and texture vary slightly from piece to piece and from what you see on screen. These variations are part of the product, not defects.
4. Prices and currency Prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD) for Canadian customers and US dollars (USD) for US customers, based on the country you shop from. The currency you're charged in is shown on the product page, in your cart and at checkout. Applicable taxes are calculated at checkout. For US orders, import duties are prepaid by DOT and included in the price you pay; you won't be charged extra on delivery.
We may change prices at any time. If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of an error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full.
5. Orders and payment Placing an order is an offer to buy. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if a product is out of stock, we can't verify payment, or we suspect fraud. If we cancel after you've paid, we'll refund you in full. Payments are processed securely by Shopify and its payment partners; we never see or store your full card details.
6. Shipping Delivery times and costs are described in our Shipping Policy. Risk of loss passes to you when your order is delivered to the address you gave us. Please double-check your shipping address; we're not responsible for orders sent to an incorrect address you provided.
7. All sales final Every DOT is finished by hand in small batches, so all sales are final. If your order arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, contact us and we'll make it right, as set out in our Refund Policy. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded.
8. The DOT app and NFC tags DOT notebooks and DOT Shortcut Tags work with the free DOT app, which is provided separately and may have its own terms and privacy notice. Content you link to your notebook (such as photos, videos, voice memos, songs and locations) stays yours, and you're responsible for having the right to use it.
The app and tag features depend on your phone supporting NFC, your phone's settings, and third-party services such as music and map providers. We work to keep the app available and working, but we can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, and features may change over time. A tag or notebook not working with a particular phone is not on its own a defect.
9. Intellectual property The DOT name and logo, product designs, photos, text and other content on the Store belong to DOT Books or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce or use them for commercial purposes without our written permission.
10. Acceptable use You agree not to misuse the Store, including by attempting to interfere with its security or operation, using it for anything unlawful, or submitting false information.
11. Reviews and submissions If you post a review, comment or photo, or send us feedback, you confirm it's honest and that you have the right to share it, and you let us display and share it in connection with DOT. We may remove content that is unlawful, offensive or misleading.
12. Disclaimer and limitation of liability The Store and our products are provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent allowed by law, DOT is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Store or our products, and our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
13. Governing law These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. This doesn't take away any protections you have under the consumer laws of the province, state or country where you live.
14. Changes to these terms We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted here, with its "Last updated" date, applies to orders placed after that date.
